You heard right! For the first time in history, the NCA & NDA College Camp Opening Rally will be live-streamed for cheer and dance fanatics everywhere.

Each year, the stands at Southern Methodist University fill with former staff, fans and college cheerleaders and dancers for an impressive display of the newest skills to be performed during the season. Best of all, we will live-stream the rally in case you can't make it to Dallas!

Four days before Opening Rally, the staff met in Deadman Gymnasium on campus to set up stunts and work out the kinks in their new pyramids and basket tosses as well as coordinate choreography. Some of the college staff just flew in from Las Vegas after working the first camp of the summer at the historical Westgate Resort, so tightening up the timing is now the main focus for the group.

The new rule changes have opened a whole new realm for creativity in stunt and pyramid choreography. We have some really cool elements in the routine the campers are going to enjoy. Newly legal skills in baskets and inversions added extra pressure for cheer demo choreographers Mandy Morgan and LeRoy McCullough. This week at camp, teams will learn not only learn the basics, but brand new skills that haven't been allowed in past years. During the Opening Rally, expect to see baskets like X-out double fulls and pike-split double fulls.

Performing in front of the cheerleaders, the NDA staff demonstrate jazz and hip hop, and in the final section, representatives from the universities attending camp join for the pom finale!
